Luxury abounds in Miami and is not missed in any of the upscale hotels that line the citys beach. Florida Travel: Miami Hotel Reservations
22. June 2008

Miami is one of the most diverse and eclectic culinary cities in the world. Some of the worlds best shopping, nightlife and entertainment can be found here. The extreme southern tip of Miami is home to many grand hotels and the world-famous Ocean Drive. This area is known as South Beach and the Art Deco District. It is the center of fashion, cuisine and nightlife in Miami.
Making Miami Hotel Reservations
When planning a trip to Miami, it is important that you make your hotel reservations beforehand. While Miami does have a vast array of quality hotels scattered throughout the city, you want to be sure that you get a room in the one you want at a good rate. To make sure this happens, you should make your reservation in advance. You never know when a convention, concert or sports event is going on, which can make it difficult to get a good room.
Many visitors to Miami try to book a hotel room that is close to the attractions that they plan to visit. Doing so can save a lot on transportation costs. In addition, you may not even need to rent a car if you are near the strip. Buses run up and down the strip and it is very easy to catch a cab if you need one. Some of the hotels also provide car service for their guests. If this is something that you are interested in, speak with the hotels concierge.
Lastly, when making your hotel reservations, you should do so online. Many hotels offer special discounts to those who do so. It saves them money that they would otherwise have to spend on a reservationist. The good news is that they pass this savings on to you. In addition, many hotels offer special promotions and package deals on their websites that you otherwise might not be aware of.

Florida Travel: Downtown Miami Hotels

Miami is a city rich in culture and history. With easy access from a variety of downtown Miami hotels, Miamis historical sights are something that should not be missed. For instance, the Freedom Tower stands tall in the center of downtown on Biscayne Boulevard and once was a Cuban Refugee Center. This is the place to which Cubans would come once they deboarded their boats.
Another place to visit while in Miami is the Historical Museum of Southern Florida. This Museum is home to numerous artifacts and artwork from natives of Miami. You can visit the museum at 101 Flagler Street. Also, the Coral Castle has a lot of history to tell. Built more than 60 years ago, this fantasy world is carved out of stone. It is said that the builder, Ed Leedskalnin may have used supernatural powers to create this park as no one ever witnessed his doing so. The Coral Castle is still one of Miamis many mysteries.
Some Great Downtown Miami Hotels
There certainly is no shortage to the number of hotels that can be found downtown. Three of my favorites are the Doubletree Grand Hotel, the Hyatt Regency and the Radisson Miami Hotel. The Doubletree Grand is located on North Bayshore Drive on the waterfront. This hotel offers complimentary health club facilities and high-speed internet access. It overlooks the Port of Miami and is within minutes of the South Beach golf courses, the AA Arena and Bayside Market Place. With luxurious marble bathrooms and pillow-top mattresses with down-filled duvets, this hotel is filled with luxury.
The Hyatt Regency located in downtown Miami offers superb amenities, including turndown services, bathrobes, voice mail and computer data ports. The Hyatt also boasts an outdoor heated swimming pool and a fully equipped exercise facility. For business travelers, it offers a business center, complete with secretarial services, photocopying, packing and shipping, faxing and more. The Radisson Miami hotel overlooks the Miami downtown skyline and is located on Biscayne Boulevard, close to the Port of Miami, the AA Arena and Bayside Marketplace. It is the official hotel used by the Florida Marlins, the Miami Heat and the American Airlines Arena.
